Systems, Inc.
Served as Chief Engineer and Systems Engineer for CHIPSat, the first University Explorer Mission,
recently launched in January 2003 and currently operational.
Developed a winning spacecraft concept and proposal for the Educational Ozone Researcher for the University of Colorado.
Provided systems engineering support for the design of the Crew Return Vehicle for the International Space Station.
Designed a modern ultra-high efficiency plate fin heat exchanger for the high-temperature catalytic Trace Contaminate Control System for the International Space Station.
Designed a self-contained life support system for a plant growth experiment locker on the International Space Station, including illumination, thermal design, and humidity control.
Implemented new, true 6 degree of freedom low-thrust trajectory optimization model for the FORTRAN code
SEPTOP.
Deep Space Projects
Served as Deputy Systems Engineer for Boeing’s Mars Sample Return project, under award from JPL.
Spearheaded technical team developing the Near Earth Asteroid Prospector, a first ever attempt to commercialize deep space exploration.
Served as systems engineer for the Mars Micromissions study under contract from JPL. These spacecraft utilized the secondary launch capability aboard the Ariane V.
Performed spacecraft systems engineering and concept development for the Hektor Jupiter Trojan asteroid flyby Discovery proposal.
Performed systems engineering and concept development for the Boeing/SpaceDev commercial Lunar Orbiter.
Performed propulsion system design and analysis for the Clementine II microprobe, which became the basis of the AeroAstro Bitsy spacecraft.
Provided trajectory design and optimization for combination low-thrust/high-thrust manned mars mission concept developments.
Launch Vehicles
Served as Program Manager for AeroAstro’s PA-X launch vehicle development program.
Designed airborne launch platform cold gas roll stabilization system to support ballistic missile test program.
Performed initial launch complex and communication support architecture design study for the Asian Pacific Launch Center.
Developed 4 degree of freedom trajectory simulator from scratch in support of ballistic reentry testing of Mars Sample Return reentry heat shields.
Other Projects
Served as science team lead for an ozone remote sensing experiment aboard a sounding rocket launched at Wallops Flight Facility.
Designed, built, operated, and analyzed experimental heat exchangers and reactor/heat exchangers for hypersonic aircraft.
